Gonna keep this short. Just built a 390 and the rockers on the passengers side are dry. When the rockers are removed, oil pours from the stands. I have holley jets on both sides for restriction and removing them makes no difference. The oiling bolt is in the correct hole. We have rebuilt this set of rockers several times with the same results. Any ideas?

 

Try swapping the rocker arms and see if the problem moves. Will let you know what direction to go next.

 

Any chance the shaft is installed upside down? Or full of crud?

 

If the oiling bolt is in the correct hole to my knowledge the shaft is in the correct orientation.

 

We put a different shaft on with larger oil holes and it works fine now. Not sure what was up with the other one except for the holes being smaller, though.

There's one that's hollow for oiling the rockers. It has to be in the proper hole or no oil.

 

No that is incorrect. The shafts will bolt on either way. If the shaft is OEM it has a notch on one end. That notch goes to the front and down on the right bank cyls. #1-#4 and to the rear and down on the left bank cyls. #5-#8 Most of the shafts have 2 holes for each rocker arm. If no notch put them on this way. One set or row of holes should point down and the other row should point towards the push rods. If there is only one row of holes for each rocker, it should point down.
The longer bolt is not "hollow" it is slightly longer 3-19/64" but is "necked down" meaning the neck part of the bolt goes farther down and thus has fewer threads than the others which are shorter 2-31/32" but have more threads.

 

rocker arm shaft. Did you install it right. There is a notch on each one. That notch needs to be facing down and facing to the front of engine. If not you have no oil pressure

 

That post you are answering is 7 years old. Welcome to the forum. There is one bolt for the rocker arm that has a shaved down shank that lets oil by in the proper hole.

 

...and the two 'thin, long' bolts are towards the middle, but offset from one bank to the other. Also, the oiling holes are chamfered, at least on the C8xx heads.
