How much and what type?

I blew up my transmission a few weeks back, and I finally got around to pulling it and bringing it to be rebuilt. Now I'm ready to throw it back in, but I have a few questions.
1)Any Mercon type fluid is ok? Any suggestions?
2)How much will I need to fill the converter, trans, and t-case?
3)I assume the tcase uses the same fluid as the trans?

2000 F150 4x4 5.4 with electric tcase engagement. Thanks very much for any input, this forum has been great to me so far!

What wrong with the shop? They don't know?
Page 290 of user manual.
Is it a 4r70 or 4r100? Makes a difference.
Page 286/287 has the fill specs. Which trans again.
Good luck.

The "shop" is my garage lol. Its a 4r70W and I was told Mercon V. Although I have been told conflicting fill amounts. I bought extra to be safe. Thanks.

Transfer case needs Motorcraft XL-12
Transfer case fluid.

Mercon V not for transfer cases, may cause transfer case to explode.

See YouTube videos from FordTechMakuloco for more info. He has done one on this.

Thanks for the info. In the video you referenced, he says that regular mercon is what was supposed to be used originally. I have plenty of bottles of that sitting around. Fine to use that right?

Original trans oil around 2000 was MERCON... That has been discontinued and MERCON V is the "new" oil. There is nothing wrong with the original MERCON, the V contains new addatives for improvements... but not in the transfer case... You can put MERCON in the trans and transfer case. You can put V in the transmission and buy ATF or transfer case fluid for the other.
