will straight piping my 7.3 ruin it?

I want to do a single stack through the bed, but I want to straight pipe it, I see lots of people do it and yes I know its annoying but I've had loud trucks before so its not going to bother me, but one of my friends told me that straight piping will burn out my o rings or pistons or something, will this cause any real damage or loss of power?

Nope, it won't hurt a thing. Your friend is an idiot.

Ya what he said, your friend thinks you have a gas engine. I have 4" straight pipe on mine as do many others. Some guys even have 5" but its not necessary unless you engine is pushing out over 500 hp

Not on trucks with computers, i cut a clogged cat out of a mid 2000 dakota and it ran like dog**** afterwards.

That's why I said "cats are the only setback sometimes".

On rigs with after cat O2 sensors, you can't just take them off. If there are no sensors behind the cats, it doesn't matter if they are there or not.

I prefer the 12 inch diameter stacks. They're easier to throw beer cans in when walking past them.
