The brake light has been on since I bought the truck and just now the cruise stopped working. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like brake light switch is activated down above brake pedal which probably makes cruise inoperable.

I didn't mean the brake taillight I mean the brake light on the dash. Cruise has always worked up until I started looking into the brake fluid level sensor and all I really did was unplug the harness for it and check continuity then plugged it back in and now the cruise won't work.

 

Dgmisho12 that is a different situation than I had with my sons explorer,,,,good luck with that and update if you find out what it is......sounds like it must be related to the harness or switch if you have already checked for the obvious fuses, relays and connections at both ends
