Questions on replacing door glass

I have a couple of random questions for anyone who has done this. I am replacing the window regulator (had a broken weld and couldn't be salvaged) and replacing door window glass. So my questions are: 1) do I attach the window lift channel to the new glass before putting glass through the access hole? I assume so but the shop manual doesn't say. 2) do I put glass in through the access hole before installing the new regulator? Thanks for the help.

1 yes
2 I think so

It's been awhile since I did one. It becomes obvious as you go. You'll likely end up shifting things around a bit. Loosen the division bar to gain some flexibility. Patience is your best friend on this project - good luck!

Answer to #1 is yes. Definitely attach the window to the channel first. Answer to #2 is no. You can put the glass inside after you install the regulator.

If the regulator is not in place to attach the glass to, it will end up sitting at the bottom of the door, and in the way installing the regulator through the access hole. My 2c.

Thanks to all who responded. It took a couple of hours but I got the side-window in and it's working great.
