1993 idi swapped to a 1990 460

Hi I got a 1990 f350 crew cab 5 spd 4x4. The top part of my window frame got clipped by a crane my cab is toast. But I got a 93 idi crew cab with a blown motor and a shot zf5 in it for 800 bucks I was thinking I'd just swap my 460 into but I had some questions about how to go about the wiring harness how to hook it up into the 93. Also was wondering if a cab swap would be easier? I have yet to do any of this yet and was hoping to get some pointers from all ford guys before I tear into all input would be great

A cab swap would be easier. Be aware that the cabs are not identical. There are some holes in different places in the firewall among other things. Also be aware that the cab is what is actually considered the truck. Much like an AR15 lower IS the firearm. That being said, you are legally supposed to have a new VIN assigned to the truck when the cab is swapped.

Do a search on the forum for cab swaps, I'm sure more help will be found there as this is covered quite often.

don't mess with it.replace the blown idi and trans from another donor.these are not hard to find.very plentiful.then sell off the gas pig to recoup half your money.scrap the rest of the '90 to recoup the other half.

If the guy wants to stay gas that's his call but he don't need to chew another members head off in the process of explaining that. Need some more of this and this and we all can go to bed happy.
