Put a quadrajet on my 429 with weiand intake. Seemed to run then somebody grabbed a screw driver and started messing with it. Anyway it will idle real low rpm. Doesn't sound quite right in mid range and tries to die if held at even throttle also in low to mid range (have to pump it). Once you get it on top tho it runs like a q jet should and sounds good and runs good. Any ideas on mid range issues are appreciated. Please no q jet haters! Carb came off running 78 Chevy truck with a 350

 

Well here is the good and the bad. QJ are great carbs, but are one of the most difficult to tune and rebuild. First, you need to kick the person who touched it in the junk. Second, there are some great books out there on the QJ, you need to find one and read it. Or find an expert. Sorry for your luck.
