Do I have a Camper Special?
When I bought my '74 F250 Supercab, one of the previous owners removed the emblems and was going to paint it but it never happened. There are holes below the F250 emblems and I'm thinking they are for camper special emblems (so far found one NOS and it fits the pattern) The last owner had no idea and some of the emblems were lost (most I've since found NOS)
My VIN is F25YKU83790. There is also a number F253 on the VIN tag. The GVW is 8100.

^ Pickup follows all the above VIN series codes. There was no F350 4WD until 1979. ^
F25 = F250 2WD Pickup / Y = 360 2V / K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant / U83790 = 1974.
F253 = F250 2WD Pickup .. 8,100 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
There is no code within the VIN or stamped on the Warranty Plate that identifies a Camper Special.
At final assembly, a pigtailed wire harness w/plug was placed inside the glove box. This was to be used with the camper clearance lights.
It plugs into the Camper Special ONLY tail lamp harness that has an extra feed wire for it.
TYPE 2 is the Camper Special emblem for your truck. TYPE 14 was only used on 1973/76 F350 Super Camper Specials.

I believe the Camper Special badge type 2, Crew Cab type 4 and Trailer Special type 8 go on the front fender just below the side marker light?
And the Lariat type 6 and XLT type 13 are the only one's that go below the F250 badge on the cowl...Trailer Special type 9 goes (SOME WHERE) on the bottom part of the tail gate?
But I think on a 74, the "F250" part is on the fender below the cowl and not the cowl itself?

Super Camper Special, Camper Special and Trailer Special emblems were placed under the F-series emblems in 1974 and '75. Since the SuperCab model was introduced late in the '74 model year, it is not depicted in the "Recreation" section of the 1974 brochure. The regular cab Camper Special is shown with the Type 2 emblem placement as described above, along with the Super Camper Special which gets the Type 14 emblem.
What all of this means to the OP is that those two holes under your F-250 emblems could be for either CS or TS emblems. You will have to find other equipment particular to the packages to determine which package your SuperCab was ordered with. But you do have a fairly rare, low-production model, since, as mentioned above, the SuperCab was a late introduction.
