Price check on a new 6.7...

Been talking with the local dealer here in Anchorage.

2015 F350 w/ 6.7, Lariat, crew cab, FX4, 5th wheel package, MSRP is about 66k. Dealer will only come down to 62k claiming it is 500 over invoice. Truck has 330 miles on it. I offered 58k and they said go by a truck from another dealer.

Also test drove a 2014 F450 King Ranch optioned and loaded out to the max, only 6300 miles. They "came down" to 66k in price. Only one for sale in Alaska.

Same dealer has both.

Another dealer has a similar new F350 but with $1800 more in options for 61k before rebates. I'd buy it except it's the wrong color (will be a company truck, must match logo scheme).

Because of the difference in price and options between the dealers is where I came up with my offer of 58k before rebates and the sales manager looked like I just murdered his new born child and ate their dog.

Was my offer out of line?

Go to a website like TrueCar or NADA and run the numbers for the options. Will give you a good idea.

here is NADA site

I would ask to see the invoice. See if he will make a deal at the x-plan price.

Dealer invoice is just a computer print out, rather plan, tabulated paper.

Options on the left. Right side has pricing according to the type of plan (X, D, A Z).

My truck stickered at $69,750 and I got it for $59,500. That was in Ca. last Dec. Alaska could be a totally diff. ball game.

My 15 King Ranch was sticker retail at $70,200. The invoice price given was $62,700. With rebates, sale price was 57,200; In California.

To the OP, I don't think your offer was out of line. However I'm not sure what the business practices are in Alaska with regard to mark up, or discounts, regional costs associated with dealer transport.

If AK is its own micro market and competition is too scarce to affect price, I'd just join EAA and get an X-Plan pin. It only costs $40 to join EAA and X-Plan get's you 1% below invoice minus rebates and limits doc fees to $100.

X-Plan rules: https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerw...tner_rules.htm

EAA Partner Details: https://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/eaa-membe...nition-program

EAA states you must be a member for 30 days before generating an X-Plan pin but when I did it, I was able to generate one immediately after joining.

I wish these trucks were this cheap in Canada.
Anyway, both dealers I have been to have dropped around 8-10K from the 66K price.

My 15 F350 Platinum 6.7L was stickered at 66,000+/- and the invoice price I got was 58,000+/-.

I'd tell him to a better than what he told ya or you are walking!

In Alaska that may be a very long walk to a dealer with the same attitude?

I've found another truck on order from a dealer in Fairbanks. They say it should be here in 7 to 10 days.

This one is a black king ranch with all the options I want except the dual alternators which I can live without.

Going to try and get the x plan pricing, thanks for the tip!!!

Just joined and got my PIN!

Did the ford dealer ask you for your membership card? Under the details with the PIN it says they will want to see a card that shows you've been a member for at least 60 days

Hello I got a x plan pin # from someone on this site.
I will try to find that post but all I did was request it and someone was nice enough to offer it to me.I don't recall how many pins a ford employee gets but they get several and offer them up if you ask.
Like OP said not sure of AK market but maybe a trip out of state could save you $$$ try this Holiday Ford | Ford Dealer | Dallas
I saw that a week ago look up dealers new superduty inventory they seem to have deep discounts!!

My brother lives in Anchorage, he ordered his from a dealer in Seattle. Said most of the Anchorage dealers are a take it or leave it on the pricing.
