2wd to 4x4??

My truck is currently 2wd and would rather it be 4x4, but I have put so much work into it that I would rather just convert it instead of buying a new truck. Has anybody done this before??? If so, what would I need to achieve it and how long would it take??

The search function should yield more than adequate reading material.

How much are you willing to spend? It will cost about $2,300-$3,500 depending on what you do for a front axle, transmission and other parts required. Everyone is doing these so transmissions are getting expensive.
