There will be lots of other thing that pop up that'll need to be fixed/changed when you start the R&R process and the bill will climb fast. There's a memeber that has the exact setup you're talking about (will not name him) but his final bill was around 20k and he's still not happy with the outcome.

I'm not trying to talk you out of it but out of all the forums that I'm on I see many of these projects get butchered or just dumped all together half way through the build.

Not sure if you were talking about me not being satisfied! Haha! I'm definitely not yet satisfied with where I'm at/where the truck is at.

OP. Make a long term goal of what YOU want. If you want a beast OBS write your goals down and don't half a$$ anything. Do it right the first time. I'm at roughly $8k+ in aftermarket in my OBS, and should have done things a lot differently.
All these guys know what they are talking about. Listen to them. What was said earlier about stg 2 injectors needing 10k is true. I convinced myself for stage 2 injectors as I could "de-tune" them etc etc and they are the same price as stage 1.. If you want to do a more budget friendly truck, stick with 1's. A good clean running truck with Stage 1s will be extremely satisfying and be plenty of power for most. I'm currently stuck at the mode wondering where to go next with my truck as the stage 2 injectors need some serious air. Mind you my truck is a new animal with what i've done, but probably wouldn't be great for daily towing, etc .... yet

For example I ran a rolling acceleration test to test acceleration and spool up/responsiveness of the truck as I've progressed. Feel free to do the same and compare. (everyone else too!)

~Get rolling at 15 mph (holding at 15, not accelerating past) and stomp throttle and timer simultaneous (Get someone to help if you need) and time how long it takes to get to 60 mph.
~My stock truck with intake, exh and the 6 position chip did 20-60 in 11.88 seconds. I was on a back road in an old development area and tried 0-60 but the road was too short.. It was SLOW. After my stage 2 injectors and custom tune to run them better and no other change I did 15-60 in 7.62 seconds. With my built auto, 66mm turbo and T500 hpop (and new tuning) it will do it in 6.1 seconds.

After my long story haha, go with stage 1s if you don't want to get too crazy..

Just ask 427fordman his stage ones and 366 sure seems like a very very great pulling, great egt . just about as well rounded combo as I have read.that 366 spools fast and makes power.bill and Glenn have 2s...Glenn is not satisfied with egts and bill would have done 1s if the 2s weren't in big red when he bought it.
I am curious to pull with my new combo when I get it all ironed out. It will be either great or an immense failure. Had I not gotten a deal on these stixs I would have replicated Darrin's build exactly.

I got the stage 2s with the 366. I definitely like it but I put a lot of money/upgrades into it at once, so I'm comparing it to what I had previously which was a stock motor with 4 in exhaust, 6637, and programmer. No comparison performance-wise. They are a little smokier than I would like though.
I love the 366. It spools quick and whistles louder than stock when spooled but is quieter at idle and low boost.
I have had no issues with temps yet. I pushed it hard up a canyon hill and never even hit 900* and it pegs at about 30-32 lbs boost. But I was not towing and haven't yet so I can't speak to that.
The gearhead tunes seem to do a good job keeping the numbers in check but I have heard that they are relatively low on power. I am hopefully going to get some TW tunes to compare. I'm sure the numbers will be higher if they are more aggressive like people say.
It seems like the general consensus is stage 1s for towing. I would love to try them to compare. Definitely let us know what you settle of and how you like it.

If your only hitting 31-32 lbs if boost the yeah I'd say they are low on power.

how many lbs does your truck make? It looks like our setups are similar aside from the turbo.

I haven't played around in the race tune but economy I've got 36-37 and daily 39. I spend most of my time in economy. It's not very economical lol

Edit. You should be able to see 40 with your turbo.

now that you say that, I haven't messed with my race tune either. Only the "economy" tune.
I'll have to mess with the race tune this weekend. Of course I live in Oklahoma now and its pretty flat... the truck maxes out pretty easily/quickly. I need a mountain pass to test it in, or a heavy trailer...
One of the next projects for the truck is head studs, valve springs and push rods. Until I do that, I am pretty happy to be in the low 30s.

You don't need a heavy trailer, just put on your brakes and go for it! Sounds crazy and I'm crazy but I have done it for some quick testing!
