Coil packs don't fully engage on plugs and torsion keys rusted on, can't get off, advice?

My buddy's 2001 F-150 5.4 had a bad coil or two so he bought the full set of Accel replacement coils with all new boots. Now i've never replaced 5.4 coils before but when you install these the boots don't "snap" on to the plug like old school wires do. That snap kinda gives you the assurance that you have a solid connection down there where you can't see and without it i'm wondering if all is well. The little 7mm bolt is tightened down nicely, does that mean it's good to go?

Also, he bought a lift kit and a part of that kit was new torsion keys. This truck has a good bit of rust underneath and those keys are on there tiiiiight, they won't budge for me or my sledge. I don't have a torch, is there a trick that works for those buggers? I would love to find a way to get them off without overheating the spring steel in those bars and the driver's side key is about 6" away from the fuel line/filter which makes me a little uneasy as well.

Thanks for the help!

The boots don't 'snap' on. Once you bolt down the coil it's not going anywhere.
Look at them close. Look at the old ones too.

They are a spring that sets down on the top of the plug.
You need to use dielectric grease so the boot tip 'finds' the plug tip.
BTW the Accels are junk.
The rest you have to do what you have to.
Good luck.

For rust penetration, try a mix of 50% ATF and 50% acetone. I learned this trick several years ago and it outperforms any commercially available (kroil, liquid wrench, pb blaster, etc.)

I'll have to try that, I graduated to kroil a couple of years ago and it's waaaay better than any other I tried so if yours is better than that it must be awesome and that'd be a very nice thing to have.

You know with the 50/50 mix you end up with 1/2 gallon of the good stuff. I just learned about it last year and it works great. I made a thing with a plastic pop bottle and some 1/4 inch tubing to dispense the fluid. Spray bottles kinda die from the acetone I think.
