Okay, that makes sense. Generally when people describe something as "quiet and effortless" it's a good thing.

I sometimes wish my truck didn't sound like an angry vacuum cleaner, but the power more than makes up for that. I towed some heavy things as much as 16,000 lbs with my last truck, and I don't know that I could ever go back to an N/A gas engine as long as the EcoBoost is available.

Yes, it would be nice to have the old 4bbl V8 sound, or maybe even hear "the dual quads ring". But that isn't happening with a V6 and the hair dryers in the intake. So I'll drive one of my V8's when I want the sound, and Big Blue when I want to tow something big.

I thought I missed the sound of the V8. After driving my 3.5 EB for awhile I started liking the sound of the V6 & turbos. My F250 has the 6.2L V8 which sounds nice but I think I like the EB better.

Keep in mind a V8 engine sound is piped thru the speakers on the 3.5EB.

When I test drove the 3.5 it was laughably obvious.

On the higher trims it does. My cheapie XLT is au naturale.

Just Lariat-KR-Platinum? Interesting.

It was completely noticeable in the Lariat 3.5EB I drove.

Not just the trucks, Ecoboost Mustangs have it too.

Yup. I never drove one because they were out of my price range. Wouldn't bother me to have the fake sound, but the angry vacuum cleaner sound mine came with suits me just fine.

You should try a straight piped 6.0 if you want the jet engine sound.

My 16 2.7 F150

I bought a 16 a few months ago and so far I love it. When I first got it the stop start would work and it took me a few days to realise that the engine was off at red lights, i noticed a little shake before pulling away from red lights. Engine was started before my foot was on the gas. I also love sport mode really a big difference.

I get the same.........if I go by the dash reading. Actual is pretty typically 2mpg less. Of all the things that impress me about the truck, I'm still baffled how horribly wrong the MPG calculation on the dash is.

Best ive ever gotten is 25.5 (hand calculating) on FLAT ground running 70 for a family vacation from Atlanta, GA to Destin, FL.

Anyhow, toyhauler has been purchased. Now awaiting delivery. I'll post towing results after a few times hauling it.

You mean the one for the entire stereo? I've looked for a dedicated fuse for the fake engine sounds and haven't seen anything specific.
