I'd like to thank you guys (rla2005, ifrythings, and jaagen) for being there when I needed you all.

gonna end this post on my end by saying, she's finally charging. the culprit? well, right, the alternator needs juice to make it. and it wasn't getting that needed juice. since i did a lot of swapping out of parts, i'm really not wanting to find where in the hell is the break within the wiring that's preventing the lack of juice needed.

so, i did what any bright country boy from Indiana would do, I improvised. I'm not taking any credit though....read it in other posts. i ran a bridge wire, from battery straight to that exciter wire (green with red stripe).

I don't know if there's gonna be any repercussions in jerry-rigging it like this, but for now, i can D R I V E .

You may find the battery gets run down just sitting there. You might want to find a switched power source for the exciter power.

I am a displaced Hoosier living in Illinois these days. Still showing these Illinis how to make things work.

I looked at that earlier, IIRC it supplies many other functions so I dismissed that as a cause. Perhaps I missed something?

I've overlooked that same fuse at the first time, and I had been itching to get to the end of this thread to mention it.

I'm pretty sure it only controls the alt. I believe its a 15A.

Which numbered fuse?!? Under the hood or inside fuse panel?

So i checked my Bishko/service manual, and it's showing fuse "P" under the hood. Which is a 50A Maxi and yes it does control quite a few circuits.

Then I went and got the owner's manual, and it references fuse #22 in the PDB under the hood, which is a 20A Maxi.

Both state the only fuse for only the alt is the fusible link located at the stater solenoid/relay. 12GA. Nut that would be the charging wire..

I do have the trouble shooting chart in the manual if you want to check it out.

Fuse P, correct. I do not see an inline fuse in my Ford Service manual.

you should be able to attach that wire to the switched side of the solenoid (the side that is hot after you turn on the key), this should eliminate the possibility of a Parasitic drain on your battery.

I had a similiar problem with an externally regulated setup on my 88 and it turned out to be a bad wire that ran from the alternator over to the solenoid.

On that particular time I ended up going thru 3 regulators and 5 Alternators when I finally said ENOUGH and took it to a local shop.......Now when my battery light on my dash starts to flicker I replace that wire and Problem solved.
