Yet another headers question

I have a 1992 f150 302 e4od 2wd supercab. I want to put long tube headers on and I am looking at flo techs, mainly for price. Does anyone have any experience with which model of headers fit in easiest around the $200 range? Thanks!

You would be better off trying Hedman or JBA.

The Flotech headers I helped install on a '95, 4wd needed modification due to the starter. Torch to bend and dimple. Also, be sure you get the ones that have an O2 sensor bung installed.

You can get an O2 sensor bung welded in, but that costs too. In any case, I would AVOID Flotechs. Spend the extra and not have to worry about heat and bend and dimpling and welding an O2 bung in. Also, a few of the header bolt holes wouldn't line up quite right and needed to be drilled, dremeled a bit so they could be bolted on.

I'm sure others will chime in with wisdom, so maybe they can agree or disagree with my statement and offer better ideas.

Thanks for the heads up! I forgot about the O2 sensor.

i didn't need to modify my flowtechs to clear the starter (manual trans), but I needed to bend the drivers side to fit around the front driveshaft.

you should be fine with 2wd with the flowtechs, but they are junky in the grand scheme of things. mine have been on for over 5 years now, if I knew how well the pacesetters fit back then I would have just gotten them in the first place. when mine rot out (its imminent) ill be getting pacesetters.

Pacesetters are a good value. I'd recommend repainting them with some good hi-temp paint before you put them on though. Definitely put an O2 sensor back in if the headers don't have the bung installed already.

I have had zero issues with my SS JBA shorties. It has been like 5 years or more since they were installed.

I've been looking at the BBK ceramic coated shortys. If I didn't already have the rest of my exhaust done I would just get long tubes but the shorties bolt right up to the factory down pipe which is still in place on mine. Everything past the O2 is new
