Keep that truck covered up.

Keep that truck covered up.
This is what can happen if your 2015 F150 is caught in a hail storm..... I ordered a 2015 Ford F150 Lariat 12/16/15 and picked it up 03/16/15 from my local dealer in Hot Springs, AR. It is a real beauty of a truck. Really a knock out. It is a 4 door ruby red metallic super cab with a 3.5L ecoboost eng. It has just about all the options.
I love my truck but it has not been an easy ride. On Ap. 19, 2015 a very bad hail storm occurred over my little clearing in the woods. Hail stones the size of golf ***** fell down on me, my house and worse of all my ruby red truck. It lasted an eternity of about 15 minutes. I attempted to shield the truck with sheets of plastic, tarps etc. to no avail. I ended up with 16 dents of various sizes and locations, not on me but the truck. Worse of all the windshield cracked on the drivers side from top to bottom.
I called my insurance agent (Hartford). He directed me to an approved repair shop in Hot Springs. I took it in and they said it would take about week to repair. I went in last Sat. 05/16 to bring it home. When I walked up to my truck I thought something looked wrong. The original 3rd sun visor (the black film in the glass behind your rear view mirror) that came with my truck was gold but the repair shop installed a new windshield with a black visor. I told them they made a big mistake. They told me to leave the truck there & they would call Ford and have them send down the correct gold sun visor glass & install it. So far no one has been able to find out why my original was gold and they can't find another correct gold windshield to install. This mystery gold shield is why I joined this blog sight. I thought some member has a gold visor & knows who to contact to get a replacement. I sincerely will appreciate any and all suggestions to solve my problem. I will add info. & hail damage photos to this thread as this story develops. Thank you in advance for your assistance. MILKYWAY

Just checked the lot, and the three Lariats and 2 King Ranches we have all have the black windshield "mask" (for lack of a better term). I've also checked every image I can find of the F-150 and none show the gold color.
My best guess is that yours was an early production truck, and somewhere along the way the decision was made to change the color. Some bean counter decided it was less expensive, or the supplier ran into issues with the original color. XR7GT390 has an excellent suggestion: compare the part number of the new windshield with the old one (if it's still around).

Still trying to locate the Ford F105 Gold......
The old windshield was trashed days before I needed it back because
I thought the repair shop would install a new exact Gold replacement glass in my truck. I have thought Ford Co. maybe installed a gold visor on the first 100 F150 to mark the new redesigned F150 truck. Milkyway
