Note. I just edited my post #85. 87 302 roller motors have reverse rotation water pumps. Better to find Fox chassis Mustang or Capri brackets, pump, etc.

It was like $170 on eBay. They tell me that a 2 row aluminum will handle 450 hp. Radiator shop guy says this one will do same as old 4 row. Remains to be seen.

Just a weekender most likely. But I'm building it to drive not a trailer queen. She'll see some "drive it like I stole it" action.

Power Steering Pump

Got this off eBay reman. I put Allen wrench in end of shaft to see if it turns smoothly before installing and it doesn't. Either way I turn it has catches in the rotation. I wouldn't think this is normal. Can someone shed some light on this please. Thanks.

I'd put some fluid in it and see if it smooth's out. Hope you didn't pay a lot of money for it.

The cardboard you found inside your driveshaft is to dampen out harmonics that transmit through the driveshaft. Also known as a 'tube deadener.'

It's a reman so only $70. Thanks for the info. I'll try it.
