Am radio question

Radio has only one wire on drivers side of box. It looks like it grounds to a copper plate on inside of box. Is this the actual positive lead, and is the circuit completed thru metal case, meaning this wire is not actually a ground wire?

There is one hot wire on the driver's side that comes from the fuse panel, speaker wire connects in the rear and the ground is acheived thru the mounted points.
