What your engine will adapt to depends on what it came out of. Ford adapters are pretty abundant and much cheaper than a custom made adapter. . .finding one someone is selling is the hard part. Expect to pay 400ish tops for one of those. Any more and someone is asking too much.

ZF5 over nv45 all day.
Its out of a bread truck with a ford chassis. I put some thought into where it came from. I know I need a adapter and possibly a flywheel.

Ever start in 2nd?

Mazda trans doesn't have low enough gears to start out in anything but first without clutch abuse

2nd with mazda trans.....it's no miracle.

A) you don't do it

B) your axle gearing allows you to

C) you do it, but the clutch quality is high and 300 power is laughable, so wear in normal driving is basically non existant.

Dunno how I missed this. Did it not come with an adapter? Guy prob sold it separately in an attempt to make more money.

Wow, I'm surprised at how similar the output is between the 4bt and the 300. I was considering doing this swap at some point in the future but maybe not now. The 28-30 mpg sure would be nice, guess I need to look up the torque that the 5.8 produces.

Don't let stock 4bt numbers shy you away from a swap. Over 200 hp can be achieved with no money, or very little depending on pump. I have less than 1k in mods to achieve my power output, plus ~400 for head studs of course.

Fwiw I never average less than 30 with 35 a/t and 3.55's. Ported head/man/turbo and a boost tube help a good bit there.
