coolant leaking\soot building *updated with pics*

Anyways I have a strange coolant leak. Sometimes coolant will drip inside the cab right under the heater core. As well with leaking in the cab the same leak drips and hits the rear of the passenger leaf spring. I can't find the leak I just installed a new heater core assuming that was my issue because its totally dry where the hoses meet the heater core. But its still occasionally leaking. I've noticed if I run the AC it will leak a couple of days later.

The passenger side fuel fitting at the back of the engine has black soot all over it. I noticed it a couple months back and whiped it clean and just checked again and its all black again. My downpipe is correctly hooked up as well.

Thanks ahead for any help.

Pressurize the coolant system and look for the leak.

On the fuel line are you sure it's soot and not the line leaking and collecting dirt

Check the up pipe and the flange where the turbo bolts to the collector for exhaust leaks.

I have caught the leak while its dripping, I just don't see where its coming from for it to be leaking in the cab and onto the ground yet the heater core and connections are dry is there anything that is I am over looking? Very annoying leak since it is so random but I rarely use the AC

Yeah its soot for sure. I had issues with that fitting before its nice and tight.

Thanks for the responses

I found my cooloant leak this is located at the front of the engine has one of the heater hoses plumbed into it seems to be leaking where it meets the engine. I will tighten it up hopefully its not an oring or something. How is this leaking in the cab though??

Pic of the fuel line going into the passenger side head. By the looks of the pic it looks like the line is leaking since its so much heavier towards the head.

Turns out all my coolant leaks were from loose hose clamps. I used a small 1\4 drive high gear ratchet to install all of them. Not enough leverage my 3/8 ratchet cranked them down way more with ease. Hopefully solve them from working loose.

I still have not made my boost leak detector to tell if I have a soot leaks or a leaky fuel line. This may be a dumb question but I did my ccv mod by flipping the dog house and did connect a hose to it. Should I find something to cap off the outlet on the doghouse while doing the boost test?

I never did, you would have to cap off a lot of things to get it air tight. My Viair 12v could hold 20 psi on it while I sprayed soapy water.

I wouldn't cap the doghouse. That's one place you probably don't want excessive pressure.

Checking for soot/exhaust leaks is visual only. Boost leak checks involve pressurizing the intake, inter cooler piping, etc.

That fuel line looks like is leaking. Doesn't look like soot

2000 Ford ranger leak 4.0l V6

So I have a 2000 ranger with the 4.0 v6 and I am getting a leak from somewhere under the motor right abover my starter that's on the driver side against the trans, I can't see where it's leaking from, but anyone got any ideas or possibly the same trouble? Or is it the same thing that's going on here?

Wrong section sadly.
Check the rear feeze plug in the head and gasket surface. Also possible heater control valve common to those vehicles.
