5.8L 1.7 Roller Rockers ...Push rod length?

Those of you that bolted on some 1.7 roller rockers to the stock E7 heads. Did you guys have to replace the push-rods or any other parts of the valve train? Will there be issues?

Thanks

I did have to on my 302, with 1.7 Crane Cobra roller rockers. .020 shim was what was needed.

You really should used a pushrod checker. If you had the heads milled, it may vary depending on how much they were shaved.

Need a pushrod length checker then have custom pushrods made for the engine.

The engine was pulled out of a 95 f150 with 79k miles. All parts factory original on it. plugs, cap water pump ect....

I'm gonna have to take the plenum off the intake to be able to lift the engine straight. The engine is missing one brackets on the exhaust manifolds to lift the engine.

Since I'm going to do that I was gonna replace the valve covers and gaskets.

I just wanted to see if the 1.7 roller rockers would be a easy bolt on. I'll have to read up some more.

In theory the roller rockers should be plug-n-play but it is in your best interest to do the basics to make sure the pushrods are correct.

I'm guessing the same thing for a speed density friendly cam swap also?

Neither rocker or a cam swap should require different pushrods but... every motor is different so it's best to check.

If the OP is expecting a noticeable performance boost with the 1.7's he's been reading too many enthusiast magazines...
