Thanks, holding both buttons down reset the display to zero. We've had our 2002 2WD Limited a couple of weeks and it didn't come with an owner's manual. There are so many bells & whistles on this thing. I'm looking for a used set of manuals on ebay.

After a while the display will settle on an MPG and rarely move as it is the cumulative MPG since last reset. So in theory that could have been the average MPG over the trucks life since 2002 barring a reset. As more data is logged the variation will diminish and settle on a mean MPG. However, I wouldn't take the lie-o-meter too seriously.

Curious if there is a consensus on how far off the MPG display is. When my Excursion was closer to stock height and I was running 265s, my meter was showing about 22 mpg (+ / - ) when I reset it during some highway driving. I have yet to go far enough to hand calculate highway mileage with it, but 22 hwy. seems reasonable considering I have hand calculated with my 97 F350 4X with 4:10s / 285s @ 20.6 mpg (mostly highway but some mixed driving).
Several friends have told me their lie-o-meters in their (various brands) trucks are fairly accurate. Good friend on his second Dodge / Cummins claims the mileage displays in both his Dodges have been ridiculously accurate, and he tracks his mileage daily.
