Lowered the truck now bouncy as all get out.

I'll had my 2003 v10 extended cab, longbed 2wd lowered today with 2" springs in the front from Crown suspension (eBay), belltech lowered truck shocks and max track shackle & hanger kit.

Drove the truck home and although its smoother then before on flat roads, any bump or anything in the road just makes the whole front bounce like crazy. Dude at the shop said the springs looked to be B&G springs just repackaged. I need new front springs ASAP, any help would really help, anyone know a better springs that can handle the weight? There's also a tinging metal hitting metal sound on the drivers side when I go over larger bumps as well, could that be one of the new front shocks?

Thanks guys,

Alex

On my old Cherokee I replaced worn springs in the rear with Crown springs. They lasted one summer before they sagged to all hell. It was a $500 4x4 so I didn't care, but won't get those springs again.

Look into Deaver springs. Expensive, but tailored to the exact specifications to the truck.

Problem isn't the springs it's the shocks. Lowered shocks are stiffer than standard length because you loose so much travel when you lower a vehicle so the shocks are valves stiffer to help limit the vehicle. In my opinion and it's my opinion only I can't stand when people lower 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. These are trucks and are designed to be used as so, so go buy a Honda Civic if you want to lower a vehicle

Jm96250 thank you so much for that reference, I called 8 major spring companies and was then told to call summit and have them search their vendor inventory, no one makes one that is decent. Deaver is going to make me custom OEM rated 2" drop coils, expensive learning experience and I wouldn't do it again if I could hit the do over switch.

So 3 weeks with crazy bouncing truck, can't go on the free way with the way it goes up and down like a lowered car on bad coilovers feels the same.

My tires were shot too so I replaced them with 265/75/16 Cooper Zeon LTZ. They are pretty excellent, but after installing them there is a drive line buzz at take off and deceleration 5-25 mph and pretty noticeable. I talked to Max track about it and they said that their kits all need to be fitted with shims. My new question would be what size of shim would I need?

Here's a couple pics, the suspension shop guy lowered it to the lowest of the 3 adjustable heights I'm going to raise it up one notch to sit level with the front.

Whoever you had lower your truck did you no favors. It sounds like they really screwed things up.
