I'm not sure if it is clutch drag or not. When the engine/trans are cold and I stop at a light. When I push the clutch back in I only wait 3-5 seconds and no grind. Once the engine/trans have run for a while it can take more then 20 seconds and I still get a little grind.

 

Today I switched out the 90 wt gear oil with 140 wt........it does seem to shift a bit better(95 degrees here).....but I can still tell that it is an old truck

These old shift boxes are 65 years old, I still grind mine if I do not clutch or wind it just right. They are just like the engine, somewhat temperamental and require acknowledgement of the mood they are in! It's all about the secret sauce as I say, when to gas it, when to let off the brake,and start the roll, etc....the 140 weight does the job though for me.
