Tanks seems in good shape (but I haven't looked inside), and gas line is all new from the tank to the fuel pump and carb.

Also the glass bowl on the fuel pump is clean...no junk, but the old fuel pump had a small amount of sediment/rust on the bottom.

When the fuel line was replaced, was the fitting from the tank to the line checked? Mine was nicely plugged with crud that served to restrict flow when under power.

Not sure, it was replaced by the PO

If I hold a match up near the filler tube to the tank, will I be able to see inside? (just kidding)...I'll use a flash light.

Did you use Teflon tape on the fuel line threads? If so that could be your problem.

I did not use Teflon tape on the connections I've touched...however, I'll have to check on the connection to the tank which was done by the PO. It may have Teflon on there.

That's probably not it then. You might have loosened some crud in the lines when you changed the pump.

Where did you get the new fuel pump? Do you know if it is specifically for use with gasohol/modern gas? If it is old, it probably isn't.

I would also check for vacuum leaks.

2x on Forty-niner's earlier post. I had a clear sight glass, and flow when disconnecting the line from the elec. pump to the tank. But the engine just wouldn't pick up well upon demand. Put 50 psi through it until hearing bubbles in the tank, let it flow again, repeat. Flow through the line doubled, problem solved, at least, until getting around to putting in a new tank.

That was it. Pulled the line off the fuel pump, only a dribble. Blew air back through the line, heard the bubbles, paused and did it a couple of more times then fuel flowed out in a stream.

Connected the line back up and running well again. Not going to call it perfect yet, but hopefully will get me by until I can clean out the tank or replace it.

Drove 20 miles on Monday, longest ride yet. No problems. Put some gas stabilizer and gas in the tank.

Tuesday afternoon, drove another 20 miles to put the truck in storage while we go to Michigan for the summer. We're trying out being 'snow birds' this year and see how it works for us.

Temperature outside was 100F and 100% humidity (must be time to head north!). Had the vents and windows open as well as the cowl vent and was still dripping when I got there. Temp gauge went to its normal slightly above the half way mark, then when I got up to 45 to 50 MPH, crept up to just below the H.

I was afraid it was going to over heat, but it kept running like a champ. I slowed down a bit to see if it would cool off, but it didn't budge. It was running great, so kept going.

Said goodbye to the truck for about 3 months.
