83' Flareside 4x4 restore project

Found this truck on craigslist and drove over 7 hrs to pick it up some months back. Have big plans for it and have already done a lot with it. It is a 83' flareside 4x4 with a 351W and C6 auto. Power locks and windows.

Plans for it include: redo interior in all black(just have to do the seat to be complete), paint satin black( headed to shop this week), dual exhaust, 6 inch lift, wheels and tires( already have bought and in garage), have the a/c re-installed, and I have already ordered all new chrome for all around this truck from LMC. Need to find rear bumper brackets...

If you repaint it and put the pin striping back on if you find a source for them let me know. I have part numbers for the body side and the cab roof pin striping I need but no one makes them nor are there any NOS ones at the moment.

The best thing would to get a graphics place(like the car wrap people) to remake them. A place here in town is going to do the letters on the tailgate for me. Im not going to put the striping back on the side, though I have considered it.

Nicely done!

Hey NukNuk I have to say that I'm impressed - when I first saw the pics of the nice interior on your truck, I thought "oh that's a shame to change an interior that nice..."

Then I saw what a good job you did with the black, and I changed my mind. I might even consider this later with mine.... What did you use for the finish, is that a satin paint? Dye? Looks very nice!

You could probably get some money out of that red seat... and what size are the wheels you are taking off?

Working on a flareside as well, at http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/13...with-pics.html . Not nearly as far along as yours.

Keep the pics coming!

Yeah I just couldnt do the old school red and wood grain. The interior is all done in Duplicolor fabric and vinyl flat black paint. I even sprayed the seat belts black. The seat is in near mint condition. So i just plan on redoing it in black. The wheels are 15's, dont know how wide, I have no plans for them nor need them.

Keep us posted on how the Duplicolor holds up if you would? I may give that a try...

I'm going for more of a stock look, so might make you an offer on those 15s at some point.

By the way there is a Flareside picture thread just starting at http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/13...-pictures.html
