how can this be? the WTS cycles as well as glow plugs. Brand new batteries, starter relay, starter. with a volt meter tested to make sure power is going to both connections to starter and they are good.cleaned battery posts, and all connections, is it that if there isn't 12v going to starter it wont function? only 3 codes: 0237, 0470 ( deleted EBPV), 1139 (unplugged fuel heater). 2001 f550 150k a/t. thank-Q

Are you saying the starter won't engage, or the truck turns over and won't fire off?

You can check your starter by jumping the relay. This will confirm the starter is good, or at least getting the juice.

If it will turn over but not fire, put a charger on it for a clouole of hours and give another try.

Report back.

If it's not turning over put it in neutral. It could be a sloppy shifter.

there is power to the relay, have a test light and ohm meter, perhaps these batteries have the volts and not enough amps. had that before when the lights are on and all that but what is really needed is the amps to turn the starter . these require 1650amps with factory starter and 650 with denso style. I only use denso style . thanks

it fired up when i swapped two other batteries in there and jumped the relay, seems like there is some stray voltage in the ignition circuit , gonna have to chase some wires.

You need to determine the voltage drop during cranking. This is best done by using the Solenoid with the key out of the ignition so it doesn't start.

Here is a diagram you may find helpful to ease the process. Simple to make and works on all vehicles.

0.5vdc is the maximum drop.

Is it one of the Chinese made Denso style starters?
