****t **** broke
Well I went ahead and picked an entire boukey of oupsy-daisies. I accidentally broke my overdrive shifter. The plastic cylinder is broke in like three places. I looked a new one and all I could find is the button and the entire lever. All I need is the plasic. What I'm wondering, can I just use and switch to use my overdrive overide? what I wanna do is hook up like just any shifter with lights and a button. Or hook up a switch just somewhere in my cab and get a new shifter?

I broke off my shift lever last year. I searched for awhile but the best option came down to just buying a new shift lever from Ford (I couldn't find an aftermarket lever anywhere). And just use your old button, as long as that didn't get broken.
Here is what mine looked like after it broke.

But if you just need a quick fix, electrical tape worked good on mine for almost a year until I fixed it.

When I got mine the guy says there are 4 or 5 over there . just go grab one and bring it on up. Went down and took the first one off [the whole lever] and dropped it before I could disconnect the darn things wires. Broke one of the wires up inside the plastic cover that's over the lever. Went to the next truck and it was a manual. so were the next 2, finally found another auto but had to battle it out with a wasps nest full of angry critters. Some carb cleaner took 'em out in a hurry. Would be a good chance to pick up a better boot for the lever too.
