Throttle response 4.2

Got a 1997 f150 4.2.

Lag in response at throttle. In gear or out of gear. Hit gas and takes a half second to respond. Other than that the truck runs great.

Mass sensor has been cleaned, new air filter and plugs are good.

Saw some posts about Ford having problems sometimes and computer needing flashed. However, those post seem to refer to newer vehicles that have a different throttle system.

Any ideas? I don't know much about Fords.

check your throttle body for carbon or improper sealing might be sucking air. you can use carb spray to clean it but i would remove it to clean it and dont over tourqe throttle body when you re install you will crack it or worse.
