that depends on what they offer.

Is ford willing to build me a truck worthy of buying?
Massive power, stick shift, 2 wheel drive, reg cab with 6.5 foot box, electric locking diff, comfy seats, pounding stereo and ill buy one for sure.
Give me only some cheesy little 6 cylinder engine, and no stick, and i am out.
Will buy a used dodge srt10 instead.

it'll be cool, but not for me. I have no use for a 2wd pickup that has no ground clearance.

I would pass on buying one.

I'm pretty sure the cost of the truck would be a premium in the end, and still without the V8 rumble. Now a Lightning with an 'EcoBoost 5.0' would definitely grab my attention.

I had a 1994 and loved it. Had to get rid of it because the wife wouldn't ride in it. She kept hitting her head on the back window when I put my foot in it. I won't buy one either, no V8 and none make an extended cab any more. Hate 4 doors.

I wish they would build a work truck. 8' bed, small diesel, comfortable but not plush interior, 4wd, 3/4 ton capacity, and affordable. Something I can put dirt or lumber in without worrying. Instead they market high end trucks to people who don't use them as trucks or will lease forever. Keep the pile of chrome and macho look. That was fine when I was 20, but now I have a business, bills, family, etc.

if it's done to tradition

First it would have a turbo charged 6,2 500+ hp awd drivetrain and loaded to the gills

If was the same equation as the 2004 I had, then yes. No V8 rumble, NO.

They should have put a supercharger on the v8 and made 600 or more hp and i would have bought one.
Ford messed up imo going just with a 6.

Maybe if it came with the flat-plane V8 they are using right now in the Mustang. But up here you get laughed at if you have a 2wd truck. Practically worthless in the midwest to have 2wd anything really.

I miss my old Lighting... I would have to see what they came up with but assume it would be a EB variant these days

1st I bought a 13 with the 3.5 turbo, when pulling the truck for the most part will stay in 5th and will suck the gas out faster than a tax man after your wallet.Empty the trucks goes pretty good but lacks the cubes at the top end,I have no mods on it and the mileage will stay 11-12 and maybe 14.So I bought a 14 fx4 with a 6.2,the last one I North America with 3700 kms on it,now it has about 6000 kliks on it.The 6.2 will pull the trailer as well as the turbo but the 6.2 won't keep hunting for gears as much as the turbo does. There is no substitute for cubes as the 6.2 will tear the tires off,but the turbo has good 3/4 throttle go.Ford did a major f--kup by dropping the 6.2.I don't feel like driving around with a screaming engine to produce HP,WTF are they thinking?I'll drive the 13 turbo to the ground and I'll save the 6.2 in the shop for a future driver and I'll install the supercharger(waiting in boxes) next couple of years and have a toy to blow the doors off the crap that is up coming. The Dodge boys have a 6.4 that looks promising,I'll walk across the road and check them out.
