OT: A little barn find gem
Got a lead on a 34 Chrysler CU Coupe a few weeks ago. Finally followed up on it and saw it today.
Has been sitting untouched for 40 years. The prior owner (to the current owner) pulled the engine and transmission to rebuild. Never got around to it. The current owner is an auto shop teacher (retired for 20 years) rebuilt the engine before he retired but never put it in.
Overall, the car is in decent shape with the usual rust in the rear. Although I haven't inventoried each part, I'd say it's 90% complete. The current owner brought it home the way it is now and with it being disassembled. He has parts for it everywhere that'll need to be collected. While I was investigating the car, I opened up the truck and found a stash of old bucket headlights. They come with the car. The current owner is almost 80 years old and wants to thin out his possessions as his kids are not interested in this "old car" stuff. He had a few other things that I was interested in and hoping that he'll "warm up" if the car is purchased.
While I currently don't need another car, I have forwarded my find to the person that works on my Airflow. He had restored a 34 Chrysler Airflow coupe before and has recently sold it to the Blackhawk Museum in Danville, CA.
Hoping the deal goes through so I can get my broker's fee.

Yes, the "waterfall" grilles on the Airflows are awesome!
If you look closely, you can see two handles under the dash. One for each cowl vent. The cowl vents have similar design as in our trucks.

And I thought that I was the only one who felt like that!
Something about that dusty musty smell that goes hand in hand with old tin.
Like WC Fields once said regarding women, "they're like elephants, nice to look at but I wouldn't want to own one"...this is definitely a rare and unique car but chasing down unobtainium parts gives me a headache. I'll wait until it's finished and admire the style and fine workmanship then.

He's almost finished with his 1935 Chrysler Airflow Limo restoration.
There are 11 known to be in existence in the WORLD and he has two of them, although one is a parts car that donated parts to the restoration.
