KOER test without Check Engine light?
First off, I'm sorry if this has been posted before. This is my first post, so again sorry.
I have a 1985 Ford Ranger 2.3 ltr Fuel Injected with a 5speed man. trans.
I know how to do the KOER test, but my truck does not have a check engine light. I tore off the dash looking for one, but there isn't one.
How do I do the test w/o the check engine light?
Thanks!

Welcome to FTE.
Insert a 12 volt test lamp or analog multimeter on the 20VDC scale into the under hood DLC as shown in this pictorial Ford OBD I Diagnostic Trouble Codes¦ Retrieve and Repair & watch the lamp blink, or the multimeter needle wave the codes.

The check engine light didn't make an appearance on Fords until 1988.
Worth a read: http://oldfuelinjection.packrad.net/files/self_test.pdf
Take particular note of page 2, column 3 ("In the cases where you are working on a vehicle without a “Check Engine” light...")
