I'd have to agree. I'd like to think anyone with the Pete as a dedicated use would drop it to a single axle and super singles. Keep the short sleeper as I DD a 337 Pete and there is no space in the cab.
All that said, there is no finer looking truck IMO than a classic long nose Pete with a flat top sleeper, round lights, and dual stacks and breathers. Though the Wife would probably finish me with my own .40 if I sold my F350 for one!

Sure looks like the tires on the trailer are close to FLAT!!!!
I was reading on iRV2 forum about a fiver that a fella and his wife bought that had been hauled by FTers with a truck like that.. He said that the handling was wierd and that it seemed like he was always catching a crosswind.
Bottom line was that the overhang chassis on the trailer had broken on one side and the other side was bending.. It was a forty footer so you know it wasn't light.
The trailer repair place told him that he saw trailers like that pretty frequently and that most had been hauled by a big rig. His thoughts were that even if there was an air ride suspension on the big truck that it would still be too harsh for the trailer and it was hammering the chassis' with every bump..
I'm fine with my puny little F350 Dooley....
