New To The Unibody World.

Hey guys!
A good friend of mine has a 62 unibody and he has so graciously offered it to me before he places it on the market. I'm new to the ford and unibody world all together as far as restorations but am definitely a ford man. Now, it's a decent truck and let me tell you, I'm looking for a project. It has no engine or trans. The cab mounts need replaced and the core support has rust. The interior isn't in terrible shape either. I know I should look at mounts and supports but what other critical things should I look for when inspecting this unibody. Will attach as many pics as possible.

More Info

I also am more of a grease monkey and don't do a whole lot of body work but was hoping I could pick up a project soon to learn on.

The rust in the front of the bed should be a big concern. Under that area is the torque box which can rust out and cause problems.

But I would be removing the body from the frame to change cab mounts, sand, and paint. As it stands, what would a truck like this be worth?

price is hard to say, no engine and transmission, or tailgate is going to really drop the price. That core support is another large ticket item that will drop the price. But saying that these trucks if dropped and chopped really look good. It's a blank canvas just waiting for an artist to do his or hers work.

I would keep it, throw in a drive train and enjoy b

Well I bet I could get it for $1100. I still think he wants too much. Yeah?

Yeah at $1100 that would be to high without the drivetrain. A suggestion look up in Craigslist for others in your area and show him the average with drivetrain.
