Looking good. I just did the same thing to mine. I just joined and once I figure out how to post pictures I will. Tomorrow I will be working on my back rack and side boards.

Figured out the picture thing. Do you plan on putting sides on yours? Not sure how I want to do mine yet. I'm liking the flatbed so far, makes launching the boat easier.

I saw a Super Duty yesterday that had a decent toolbox bolted onto the frame right behind the cab and then just a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 pressure treated plywood bolted to the rails, no framing around it or anything.

The wood was slightly warped here and there, so it must have been on for a while. I guess it worked for the guy, to each his own.

couldn't get my camera out fast enough to take a pic.

I like yours! Im going.to trim mine out with 1x6s all the way around.then put 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" angel arounf the top to protect the edges, im also going to stain the bed almost maroon and paint the truck and angel iron black.

My back bumper is going to be a 6" schedule 80 piece of pipe with a wooden box built around.it daring anyone to hit it!

Id love to see your.rack and.box

Did the box yesterday. Decided to go with non removeable sides. Well they could be removed by taking out 12 bolts. I used bolt down 4x4 post brackets and cedar decking painted with roll on bed liner. Just need to figure out the tailgate. I plan to put angle iron on the back edge also. I was going to use 1 by's on the sides but felt they would split to easy so I used cedar decking for that and 5/4 board for the rear where the lights are. Ton of cargo room back there now.

I will stain or paint the bed floor once the pressure treated wood dries out a bit.

I love that paint color. Next year my truck is going under the knife for a full rebuild motor, trans, interior. Im thinking of a diesel swap but im undecided. If i do a diesel swap itll be a 4bt with a 12v turbo and IIRC i can use 12v sticks as well

When you're ready to take on the bed, I'd strongly suggest checking out using Bully Liner. Besides giving your bed a really nice anti-skid surface, I like the sound dampening effect it has.

And you can read more about it here
