Dana 60 axle with Dana 50 ttb springs (pics)

My newly acquired f250 has the Dana 60 swap done but the Dana 50 springs were reused and also 2 additional springs were added in each spring pack, I drive this truck almost everyday and will also be moving with it(roughly 850 miles) soon. I cannot stand how harsh the ride is..

I'm on a tight budget and cannot do a rsk swap with sd springs or swap Dana 60 springs right now. However I am planning (tomorrow) to remove the extra 2 springs from each front spring pack and hoping it will improve the ride at least a small amount.

So, does anyone know if the ride will improve or could it possibly make it worse??

Included below are some pictures, yes I know a u bolt is missing I removed it so I can take it to the spring shop and get new ones.

F-250 springs are stiffer than F-350 spring even before you add an extra leaf, so swapping to F-350 springs should definitely improve your ride. The spring doesn't deflect as much with the TTB due to the leverage the tire has on it, so the spring needs to be stiffer, even though it would seem to make sense than an F-250 would have a softer spring.

Darn, I had a feeling I would end up swapping springs, this truck rides worse than both my obs f-350s

I had a feeling this would happen, the long spring that is underneath the two 50 ttb springs seems to be holding the arch for the two ttb springs, without it they will sag pretty bad from the looks of it.

Not sure what I'm going to do now.

Well I went ahead and removed the two springs anyway.

I'm very happy with the results. the truck rides 10x better and I have roughly 2" before spring touches the bump stops.

I wish. They're definately ttb springs, much thicker than the factory springs that were on my obs 1 tons.

At some point I'll pick up some 1 ton springs from a JY and install new bushings. My front shackles are pretty torn up where they sit up in the frame. I would love to upgrade to sd springs but do not want additional lift from a rsk.

Also for anyone that is wondering, I did lose roughly 2-3" of lift in the front.

How about just taking 1 leaf out it might push it up a tad but might still give you a good ride with the benefit of the cargo capabillity back in. If only a little bit
