Transmission mount:
Ford Transmission Mount - 21A-6068 - C&G Ford Parts

The VIN is on the left front of the frame by the steering gear box.

No VIN on the frame? Would that happen to be a Canadian truck? Some of them just had a VIN tag on the firewall (and another stamped on top of the transmission in case you have access to that). I have both a CDN and a US, both of which have numbers (however different they are) stamped on the frame but for the CDN version, I've heard of quite a few NOT sporting the VIN on the frame.

Hi guys, i found the Vin tag on the fire wall behind the old alternator regulator. I've basically just been doing research and whatnot to figure out what I'm going to end up doing whit the thing. Its gonna be a Gasser.

With that said, I just want to get it running and looking the way i want it too, I will hopefully build and engine for it later on.

Ok I hope this works

Looking at the truck more I see one major problem:

The pipe Is the steering column, the hole is the last exaust runner, I would like to keep the truck as stock as possible in the cab, and I don't want power steering, any ideas?

There's also another problem:

The blue thing is the oil pan and the I beam bar is the front axle, it's staying Solid axle, a 4x4 pan will work, now only If I could find one...

Another thing I need to fix is the firewall

It's so holy it could be the next pope mobile.

Other than that I've just been going through everything checking to make sure parts are good. Like my weird **** fuel pump.

And my gas tank, when I took the seat off I found myself a nice surprise

Delightful, but it's been in my garage for 30 years so that's not too bad.
Get it cleaned up and BAM!

Inside of the tank is in good shape too

So I proceed to clean junk out of everywhere around the truck, and we have all sorts of parts scattered everywhere for it so I'm still finding those.
Now I can see how nice my rearend is

I have a nice tach for it now

Vaccum wipers

Finding holes

All of the holes have been drilled, there's literally no rot, I don't get why but I mean I'm not going to question it.

Only other problems are the motor and tranny cross members, wich I now have better pictures of, and the u bolts
The big square block is what holds the motor to the frame.

And as you can see the u bolts that hold the rearend on should be flat on top, but aren't.

That brings you up to date now, I'm going to try to make my updates big like this for now on.

Thanks for watching.

The U bolts are upside down. The round end goes around the axle and there should be a plate on top of the spring that the threaded end of the U bolt would go thru and tighten against the spring. My dad had the same issue with the steering tube on his '47 when he installed a Y block years ago. It interfered with the last sparkplug. He was able to dent the tube for clearance.

Thats a normal fuel pump for a 360/390. In one of my Rebel Rodz mags there is an example of a gear and chain setup that the guy used on his steering. basically he put a bearing and it's mount on the firewall to hold the steering shaft from the steering box, there is a gear on that shaft. On the steering wheel side there is a bracket that extends from the firewall with a bearing in it to brace mount that shaft and that shaft has a gear on it the same size as the other one and there is a chain that joins the gears. Or you can make a variation of a Schroeder style steering system

For your trans cross member I'm thinking you'll be best to get a universal one, Speedway motors carries them I believe. It looks like yours has been cut up, and original ones are not reproduced.
Looks like a fun project

I'm farmer bred so I would probably look for a piece of square tube stock and piece of tire for a vibration damper, some bolts and washers and make an adapter for your trans mount problems. You don't mention anything about being able to weld or knowing a welder

Lol that's exactly how it's put in. I can weld but I don't have a welder right now, if I could get it to my school though I could weld everything I need to.
The problem with the current crossmember is that it's cut in half and bolted to another crossmember from a different car.
