Leaking diesel on right side of engine near firewall

I noticed a spot under my truck this morning and discovered that it is dripping diesel - several drops a second from what seems like multiple spots. Some of it is all over the sway bar link, other drips are nearby.

What is on that side of the truck/engine that might leak or cause a leak?

I don't know of much back there in a 6.0 except the plug in the head for the fuel. The heads are the same left and right so the one port gets a plug in it. If your talking about a 7.3,6.4 or 6.7 i have no knowledge of those motors at all. Oh wait yes i do the 7.3 has external fuel lines in the valley that rub thru in spots.

Mine is a 2002 7.3 powerstroke. Do the return lines go down the right side frame rail? What's on the right side of the engine that might spring a leak?

Well hell. It appears there is a right side fuel line and it is a Royal PITA to replace:

And a youtube for a 2002 F250 --- looks like a couple hours work for someone who doesn't do it every day..

I had the same problem and it was the fuel filter cap and its O-Ring. I also have read and was told that the flush valve for the filter housing is prone to leak. You will find youtube instructions on replacing it and they say it is not a big deal.

PS Also be sure the O-ring on the filter cap is with the pointed side up.

The leak was bad yesterday but today, not so bad (?). Been working in the garden and have to go to real work in a bit. Hope to dig into the cause later tonight.

Felt on the back side of the fuel bowl where the valve is - it's wet with diesel there. Not sure if that's from splashing of a different leak though.

Without taking the top of the engine apart is there a sure fire way to know whether the fuel bowl vent drain is leaking, or the steel fuel line to back of head? Since they are in the same spot wouldn't both cause the valley to fill with diesel?

Update on the leak. I used a mirror and saw a little drop of diesel on the bottom of the valve. Zero fuel comes out when I open the yellow valve lever. Decided to pull the entire bowl for a clean & rebuild.

The bottom drain port clogged solid.

Cleaned out the hard stuff then dipped the bowl in my ultrasonic:

Does anyone know the Ford part number for the pressure plugs with the allen wrench ends? One of mine was stripped off and I am going bugger it up taking it off to replace the o-ring. I can't do an online order - need truck this weekend, willing to to by Ford for this part..

Anyone know the ford part number?
