Glad for you Noah. I sure hope you got any bad karma out of the way, and it's smooth running from here on out. Enjoy the new truck!

Does not mention that the oil was changed. I would do an early oil change.

Also Noah, Did they in fact end up leaving the engine in? I would guess so with the quick turnaround, but I don't remember if you said for sure?

Good News.

From reading it sounds like they replaced the value spring. I don't think they pulled the head.

Did they do anything about extending the warranty?

Yes, replacement engine was a complete miscommunicaton from their end. They told me it had to do with their internal communication process and the misuse of the word 'powerplant' in the wrong context.

No communication yet with the Ford CSR. i'll see if they are going to provide any help with that as soon as I can.

According to the list of parts posted, it appears cylinder #7 intake valve spring was replaced without cylinder head removal.

You are correct. At least that was my understanding from the dealership, yes. There is a fellow who is able to pull the front tire off, remove the fenderwell and then work on the engine from that direction. I wouldn't recommend that for anyone over 125lbs so I'm way outside the limit for that.

....which has been pretty standard routine for working on these engines for me in my limited experience with them. Thus far, my pet peeve has been fighting the sound insulation fasteners on to the valve covers. The only most involved jobs I've had so far, have been a high pressure fuel system replacement (due to HPFP internal failure that sent metal debris through the fuel system) on one truck (which I will be pulling the cab the next time I'm into another one, God forbid) and an engine replacement on a 2011 truck that sent a rod through the block.

Noah,

Glad to hear the truck is back in your hands. You'll soon be all smiles while riding in your great rig. All of this will soon be a distant memory. These are really great trucks. Powerful, quiet, and comfortable, what's not to like?? And, mine is only the 300HP version, all the power I possibly need.

Noah,
Congrats on getting your truck back, drive it and enjoy it.
You handled this well and should get many reps for it.
