Look What Fell Out of My Accumulator Body!

So I have been putting up with a harsh 1-2 shift about a year now.
Things got worse in the last 3 months... so much so that the 1-2 shift was whipping everyone's heads back against the seat!

I did something about today and look what I found!

Replaced all springs in accumulator with Sonnax kit and all is better than it has ever been.

I was just surprised to find that many pieces.

I think that spring is broken.
Glad to hear it's working well again!

Hmm, my truck has always shifted crazy hard on the 1-2 shift. Might have to look in to this.

I have no idea about his truck but I think the tranny has about 1,000,000,000,000 on it

Hey All,

Sorry for late reply... been gone for few days.

gots_a_sol: I would look into it for sure. A tranny tech friend of mine at the Ford dealership said I could have been causing damage other places in the drive line with the super hard shifting over time... I wouldn't put it off like I did.

azex2001: My truck has 115K miles. And, "no", the tranny does not have an any additional miles on it as Apocalypse suggests. :-)

By the way, shifting is so incredible with the Sonnax kit now! I highly recommend if you are having this problem.

Did the same thing with my HD4R100 and it definitely helped the sloppy stock shifts. The sonnax kit makes all the difference with the shifts and knock on wood has helped my trans last.

Is the Sonnax kit a shift kit or just accumulator parts? Do you have a part #? Thanks.
