Called the insurance today, we had a power outage for the entire valley, my kitchen lights blew out, lost several outlets as well as the front porch light.. I have been checking the walls for heat.. nice and cold so far.

Howdy guys. Damn, Lanny, I've never heard of a power outage causing that. Must have been a hell of a surge beforehand!

yes it was! my battery backup readout input scale was almost at full tilt a second before everything went black. I was just going to tell the wife "look at that"!, when we went black (except for the lamp I have plugged into it).. thank GOD I have everything on mega-surge protectors!!

Our power company ( that I happen to work for) offers whole home surge protection,for a small monthly fee.
