Get rid of the brake cables all together and install a line lock. I've got one on my Jeep and had one on my Chevy.
The parking brake didn't work worth a darn with a 9 inch lift on my Chevy. But with the line lock on, the truck wouldn't move a lick even when winching, unless the winchy was really really stuck.

Evening All!
Rich. Don't feel bad. You weren't the only one that had a bad day. I get a call at 1300 to tell me they're kicking the show out of the park because it's too muddy. They help me out by securing the high school parking lot across the street, but I'm not allowed to do the crush. So I spent the next hour trying to get permission to use the gravel lot across the street the other way. I did, but just in time to go and meet the guy dropping off the cars to crush. On the way over there, I get a call from one of the food vendors saying they're at the park trying to figure out where to set up. Crap! I'll be right there. SO I get there and tell them where to set up at the school, they leave just in time for the tow truck guy to show up and set up the cars.
What a day! Then I go back and try to get the truck ready. It has a new oil change, all fluids are full, tires are aired up, etc. I work for three minutes, then get rained on. Go inside and it stops raining. Go out and work for three minutes and get rained on, etc, etc, etc.
It's gonna be a hectic morning, I can just tell.
