That's what makes it unlikely to be oil or turbo related. About the only way the OP doesn't need a new engine is if he screwed up the compression test, and I don't think you can screw it up that badly.
OP changed the fuse # 13 we now have compression and runs smooth Just kidding it is a broken rod and a blown oil line to turbo. A 2 for 1 special. thanks all for the info .

Love the sense of humor in a mechanically dire time. Did the rod punch a hole in the block and kill the oil line? Or did the oil line fail first and deprive the engine of oil?
yep a hole in block that cut the oil line. I new I was putting a motor in But was just hoping for cly head with stuck or bent valve. off to the wreakers on Monday.

Real sorry as well, would really like to know what caused the rod to let go, too often we do not get the whole story or the OP never comes back, I do not think that a few failures will tarnish what I see as a very good engine, to the OP, wish you well!

To OP, are you under warranty? If not, I really hate this happened to you.
Has it been determined what may have caused the piston rod to break? It would be great for the rest of us Eco engine owners to have some clue as to what went wrong.
ok picked up a used engine at the wreckers got mine ready to pull BUT the 2 top bolts trans to engine I can not get to. any tricks or am I lowering the trans to get to.
Glad to hear you got a replacement engine at the wreckers. Interested to hear what caused the rod to break and all. I just bought my 2011 with 3.5L Eco.
