Hey Gary, did you ever meet any of the Bruland's up on the island? At one time they owned the old grocery store and photomat in Eastsound. The gentlemans first name was also Gary. They sold the store and photomat a few years ago and moved off island maybe a year or two ago. The aunt ran the boat dock rentals with the paddle boats, etc. on Cascade Lake in the state park for YEARS. Her name was Edna. Your friend Dave would have had to have known her, I'd bet. They lived on the road that drops you down into Rosario. I think it was the last right before heading into the state park.

Of course I knew the Brulands. Great folks. We used to rent a vcr from them back in the days when only yuppies would own such a thing. It came in a big suitcase and a bunch of plugs to put into your tv set. Then we could take the foil off the antenna. As for the panel, last summer I did a bit more fixing on the exterior and yesterday I got it out of the shed for a good drive. Been a while since I fired the old girl up.

As you can see, I have been fogging a bit of paint here and there to make it look more like it's one color. Before I do the roof area I plan to wire wheel the seams around the rain gutters and load them up with rustoleum rusty metal primer. My paint jobs are seldom finished. They evolve.

I'm glad to see this thread back up with recent posts. I had read the whole thing before, but the last couple of days revisited parts of it including the video. Great stuff!

I know this is an old thread but makes for some very good reading. Thanks for letting us know about it GB, and that you are a movie star. May have to get an autograph some day.
