56 f100 Sparton horns

Horns got here today and they're 12 volt. I found a Youtube video on repair and cleaning and that didn't take too much time. They're both cleaned and working and painted- just waiting for the dry time to install. I did notice that the word "Sparton" isn't on the cap- just "12V". Also the mounting bracket isn't from a 56 F100 so I have to deal with that.

Still working on a good bracket. Try "ford horns" on Ebay and you'll see similar horns- most lows- at various prices. Problem is that some people use key words like mustang and T-bird to attract attention to their item and the horns aren't necessarily for mustangs,T-birds, etc.

I was able to "adjust" the bracket from one of the Ebay horns and redrilled one of the holes in the bracket to make a good fit. I then wired from the current passenger side horn to the "new" high pitch horn and now it works great and sounds like a 50's passenger car horn instead of a dull drone sound! Can't wait to honk at a little ol' lady crossing the street just a little too slow!! just kidding!

From they way everyone is talking, I'm glad I found these locally. I have both a low and a hi one. I did notice that another 1956 had a single much larger spiral horn mounted on the passenger side. I didn't get a picture of that one yet, but will post it when I get a chance to go back.
It's odd that I have been to a few shows and none of the trucks were sporting visible horns.

I saw the brackets in their catalog, but unsure how they are used. It looks like the brackets are already mounted on the horns fit to the side of the radiator support saddle just fine. They are also positioned right behind the louvers in the air deflectors

Hello,
I like to reopen that thread.
My question is about the numbers of horns Ford used at the F100. The shop manual said at page 352 the 100 though 600 series truck are equipped with one horn and only the 700 though 900 with two horns. But if you have a look to the Chassis part and accessories catalog (Form 7595) you will find a F100 wiring diagram with two horns.
Anybody know what is correct? Is there truly a different between the standard cab and custom cab?
If it is only one horn, what tone was it - high or low?
