Motorcraft fuel additive

I bought some I believe part number p22-a cetane booster. Says use 4 ounces per 25 gallons. I accidentally put in 8 ounces by mistake. My tank is 26 gallons. Am I ok by adding that amount?

4 oz. is the recommended amount. Going over isn't a problem. From what I understand adding more doesn't help either so I stick to the 4 oz just to conserve but you'll have no issues with 8.

cetane boost

Ford also make a smaller bottle which I get for my truck
It's a one shot deal so it makes it easy to put it in
Just dump a bottle before you fill up and viola
If you buy a case I think you get 9 bottles
They make it in cetane boost and anti gel

Thanks for the replies, my truck is only a month old now got it used. I was running diesel clean which I didn't notice any difference from not running anything. But just nervous if I needed any repairs ford would see I was running something other than Motorcraft products. Does any of this stuff actually work anyways? Or is it just a gimmick. Im basically running it to help protect the injectors and pumps.

I tried several fuel additives with my 2012 over 3 years. IMO using any fuel additive is a waste of money. Maybe different in a cold climate but not here.

In a cold climate you do need anti-gell with diesel.

I noticed fewer regens when running the Motorcraft Cetane booster when the truck was stock. That's about it.

If you want to try something different take a look at this. The product is awesome i have zero complaints and have using it religiously the last 2.5-3 years. It out performs the Stanadyne products i have previously used which in my opinion was the best on the market tell the Opti-lube products came out.

Its a cetane booster and a lubricant product as well. I do not know the actual manufacture of the ford product but personally i didn't see much of an improvement in comparison to the The Opti-lube. Check it out and do your own research but i don't think you will find anything better, at-least i haven't yet anyways.

You will not see mileage gains or dramatic changes in performance using fuel additives however, when our great government took the sulfur out of diesel fuel they eliminated the main lubricant for our fuel systems. Some of the additives provide an alternate fuel lubricant and fuel system cleaners in addition to improving the cetane rating.

Earlier this year, my garage-kept truck started shuddering on startup for about three seconds. It was suggested here that I use Diesel Kleen and after a couple of tankfuls, the shudder stopped and has not returned.

This is why I add eight ounces to each 26 gallon tankful of fuel.

I use Diesel Kleen but only for additional fuel pump lubricating qualities and anti gel in the winter. IMHO, most of the rest of their 'selling points' is to help make you feel good

For the PM22A, I add 4 oz at 1/4 or lower, which is still extra for the small tank but makes it easy. If I fill up at 1/2 the next time, I don't add any. If I fill up at 1/2 again, maybe I'll add 2 oz but depends how I feel. Most of the time I'm refueling at 1/4 tank. The 4 oz treats 26 gallons. Yesterday I was in southern AL and noticed the Shell station had a minimum 40 cetane sticker so I didn't hesitate to add 4 oz. Shell is typically 46 so that's probably what it was anyways.
