Redhead steering box

Only if your steering box is not up to spec. It won't solve any steering/driving problems being caused by ball joints, hubs, sway bar, sway bar end links, bushings, tie rods, etc.

I think the Excursion forum is leading the pack with the most interest right now.

From what I've read in the Excursion forum here on FTE, it will make a improvement. I'm tired of it and I'm on a mission to make the Ex drive straight.

If all other components are good, adjust your steering box a little at a time (it's easy). It made a big difference on mine, at 95k mi.
That being said, I'm still not satisfied with mine. So, Redhead it is!

Change both ends of the rod, don't remember what it's called. that comes off the steering box. usually it's bad too.

Everything in Stinky's nose is new and snug... and I mean everything - but the steering gearbox (that has already been adjusted). After 299,800 miles, I think I got my use out of the box. The steering pump was replaced a couple of years ago as well, and I haven't spent any real money on Stinky since Christmas - not even fuel. With the Buck$Zooka trigger lock in place for so long and no personal time available for months, the armory is stocked and I see no reason to put this off any longer. I am one of thirty that is a hard confirmation. Just let me know what you need from me.

I'm getting all that inspected next week. But what I'm feeling - and what I felt in the old one - is not like worn out ball joints or tie rods. I think it has more to do with the alignment specs for the Excursion versus the F-250. I've driven worn-the-eff-out F-250s that have better on-center feel than my Excursion with new everything up front.

Me too. Fine, toss my name in the ring for one of these, I've been "thinkin' about it" far too long. Time to make it happen.

We have 40+ people on the list. I'll sign up for our window on Tuesday of next week. Hopefully we can get a few more guys or gals to sign up.

I'm 100% completely pleased with this box. I've read good things and seek awesome results in my pickup and will refer them to abyone in need. and I'm hoping it lasts for years to come.

The Job wasn't too bad, just need to make sure you have someone help you remove the last bolt that way the box doesn't fall on you. Also getting the Pitman arm off was kind of a hassle and the power steering lines back on wasn't too hard but gave me some trouble.

Also the core money took a little over a week to get back so be patient when you do order and they'll give you your core I had to call them twice just to confirm that they were on it. Also When you ship your core back get a tracking number that way everybody can be on the same page !!

I don't know how good this is but over in the 6.0L section they've been having some problems with the redhead box over the last two years or so. Seems the older ones are better. Just thought I'd post up. I've always wanted a red head to but now I'm thinking twice first.

I think it's just a 6.0 thing- those guys are so used to having issues that they're a little 'hair trigger' on the panic button...

[Quote]They need a two week notice to prepare for the incoming orders.[quote]

Were they given a 2 week notice of when we all plan on calling?

No, I need to give RHS a two week notice before customers can start calling in. they will only give us a three day window for everyone to call in.
