I had my transmission overhaulded (aode). I found that when I start slowing down at a red light and get down to around 20mph and the light turns green again so step back on the gas it feels like the transmission slips really hard before it catches. Then the OD light starts flashing. I tried the code test but can not get it to work. Tried a wire and a paper clip but can not get the truck to show any codes. I would really appreciate any help. Someone said it was probably the torque converter so i bought anther on (had a new one already installed when the changed the trans) and that did not fix the problem.

 

Share some more info on your truck.
Getting codes is key to solving this issue so that problem will have to be fixed first. Does the check engine light turn on when the key is first turned on? Make sure the bulb isn't burned out. What procedure did you follow for the DIY code test?

 

Yes the light comes on when i turn the key on but then goes off. I put a jumper in the ground plug and the top right pin. I hooked up exactly as all the diagrams i have found online and in the sheltons manual. Then i turn key on. the check engine light comes on after a few seconds goes off and never blinks or anything. Tried it with the truck running also.
