Improved Fuel Line

I got tired of dealing with my old fuel line that runs from the mechanical fuel pump up to the carb. The 3/8 fuel hose would sometimes crack and I worried about it leaking gasoline onto the hot intake and block. The fuel filter also was resting on the drivers side head, not good.

Went and bought some 1/8 inch aluminum remnant and three feet of AN6 nylon braided fuel line.

Attached 5/16 NPT 90 degree to AN6 fitting on the fuel pump and ran the new hose up past the power steering pump bracket.

Cut and drilled the aluminum plate to fit where I wanted it. There was a 7/16-16 hole in block right where I wanted to mount the fuel filter mounting/support plate. The fuel filter is a Billet Specialties model that I got from the local speed shop. Two more AN6 fittings got braided hose into and out of the filter. The filter element is replaceable (AC Delco GF 471) and available at any parts store.

The connection to my Holley is another AN6 90 degree to the 9/16-24 inlet on the carb. Took a few pumps on the gas pedal and about 30 seconds cranking and truck started right up.

Good job. I replaced my fuel line today too. I went with 5/16" hard line from the fuel pump to carb with a filter in the middle. I love it.
