It's great that you have a VFD museum so close. I hope that the pump works and you are so excited pumping water that you keep the truck as a fire engine. There is a SPAAMFAA chapter in Chicago. If you decide to swap bodies, please advertise the body, pump, PTO, etc. on the SPAAMFAA website so someone else can make use of it. Have fun with it. Is there any indication of the fire truck manufacturer?

Man that is a hard decision. Firetrucks are cool in their own right but not very practical except for parade duty. A flat bed looks good and is useful for many jobs. Either way the truck will be preserved for the future.

Who doesn't? Sittin' 'way up firm and high'....Glass-packs to boot. The gear whine alone would be worth the price of admission!

Thanks for the manufacturer's lubrication plate picture. Now that you started a thread with your beautiful 31AA flatbed, we know that you do not need another flatbed and can keep the fire engine original.

Now that I think of it, my neighbors's wife is my ex of 25 years. Ick...... I'd take that MH any day. Love the red driveline components.
